The crew from Japan were back for a week of mixing at RCP. Tokyo Ghoul is a very big comic book over in Japan and they’ve made it into an animated tv show. Composer Yutaka Yamada wrote some brilliant music and some really beautiful melodies to help capture the emotion of the show. Tokyo Ghoul is about a young man who gets an organ transplant from a ghoul, which looks human but needs human flesh to survive. What’s a little butt cheek between friends right!

So for the cocktail I wanted something bloody, fleshy and strong! I gotta say, I think this is one of my best cocktails yet!

I present to you…

“The Tokyo Ghoul”

2 oz. Sake

2 oz. Japanese Whiskey (In this case I chose Nikka Taketsuru 12yr)

Blood Orange In a cocktail shaker add ice, sake & whiskey.

Cut the blood orange into quarters and squeeze the juice from one of the quarters into the shaker &  drop the rind in as well.

Shake vigorously to chill the ingredients.

Serve in a martini glass and garnish with a slice of blood orange.

Simple…but deadly.

Special thanks to Koyo Sonae for coordinating all of this and John Graham for his wonderful orchestration. Looking forward to the next one!
